A beach destination (although Boca is much more than that) that respects itself offers the traveler a pretty intense nightlife. And Bocas del Toro is not the exception. As you are looking to a place to just hang out and have a couple of drinks, a place to dance until your body collapses or even a place to read books while enjoying your favorite cocktail (yes, you read that right).
Filthy Friday is Central America’s first and only island-hopping day party experience – happening every Friday at 3 picturesque locations across 3 tropical islands in the Caribbean paradise of Bocas del Toro, Panama.
Selina Bar
This bar is a landmark hostel that is open daily, with a happy hour between 7 pm and 8 pm, but most of the people come here from 10 pm to 2 am, when the party is at its absolute pick.
Bookstore Bar
As you are read it, this place offers you the possibility to buy books while you enjoy a refreshing cocktail, like an exquisite margarita. But it is also the best place for live music in Bocas del Toro, with rock, salsa, punk all week.
Barco Hundido
This open-air bar is commonly known as the “Wreck Deck” Bar, after the sunken banana boat that rests in clear Caribbean waters in front. It has a short boardwalk that extends from the bar to an island seating area with wings. Perfect to sit there and just see the stars or the waves.
Tequila Republic
Besides the fact that you are almost 3000km away, the “Cancun vibe” you get from this place is almost unexplainable. If you love frosty beer, tequilas (duh right), amazing beach cockatils and the most delicious tacos in town. Their burgers are pretty good too.
La iguana Surf Bar
This popular surfer and skate bar is located right on the waterfront. There´s an amazing tequila-beer combo (for just $2) that can be easily your doom. Take it easy and you will be just fine. If you feel like it´s time to hop on the dancing pole, then it´s maybe time to slow down.
El Toro Loco
This sports bar is the closest thing you’ll find to Hooters in Bocas. Five screens are aglow at the same time and there’s occasional live music. Bottled beer only. In case you get homesick one night.
It can be pretty easy to let yourself go on your vacations, but just remember to take it easy and most importantly, enjoy the beauties that Bocas del Toro has for you.
